Anxious anyone?
Today’s Tuesday Tune covers one of the Bible’s most famous verses on anxiety.
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
1 Peter 5:6-7
One reason I love this passage; it sets “humility” and “anxiety” next to each other.
Humility before God says “I trust you, even though I don’t know what’s going to happen.”
Anxiety before God says, “I believe in you, but I don’t trust you.”
In these verses, Peter is encouraging us to be humble… to believe and trust that God sees you, and loves you, and is caring for you even now. (No wonder they call it “Good News.”)
