Sing the Bible - Isaiah 53:4-6

I hope you all find time to reflect and celebrate this week, with your church family or with your family at home.

This week’s Tuesday Tune is Isaiah 53:4-6 (NIV).

Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way;
and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

If you read along or listen with your kids, don’t forget to let them know it was written around 700 years before Jesus was born! You’ll probably be surprised at the questions and insights they have. And if you can’t answer their questions, then you get to model “not understanding” for them. One of the best ways we model faith for our kids is by not having all the answers.

In other news, I’m sowing corn and planting Dahlia tubers today. I hope to have lots of flavor and color to share come July!

Grace and peace to you all!
